Bachelorette Weekend

So, this past weekend I went deeeeep into Long Island of NY for a bachelorette party. I have to admit, at first I much rather have gone with the guys to their bachelor weekend in Vegas, but then after this weekend I realized how nice it has been. We took off friday night, and the ride happened to be around 2 hours. We stayed at the Hyatt hotel and I was super excited for the wifi they provided because I had to do A LOT of homework and it had to be done before sunday because my homework is all online. Once we got there we went next door to eat at a restaurant called Jerry's and Mermaids.

Chips the girls brought and champagne
The environment was extremely cool and country, something I have never experienced before. I'm usually not a big seafoods fan, I have the basic stuff like potatoes (french fries) and chicken. But the seafood around the place I stayed at was sooo good. Everything was freshly caught because we were by the ocean, literally every restaurant I went to, I ordered seafood. We ordered oysters, steamers (clams), and a bunch of other foods. At the restaurant, they had an open karaoke. If this restaurant was near where I lived, no one would get up. But, at this restaurant, since we were in the country side, people would go up and sing, and everyone would watch. Everyone was so nice to one other and the country environment was just something way different to what I experience at home. After we got back to the hotel we played a bunch of bachelorette games, had a fun time, then while they played, I had 200 math problems to complete, and called it a night.

The next morning we got up and started getting ready. This was an interesting part for me was seeing 5 girls do their makeup. I loved seeing what products worked for them and what they recommended, now I have lots of new products on my list to try. We ate breakfast at Hotel Indigo, I got a Nova Benedict. It's pretty much Eggs Benedict except with spanish and salmon. It was delicious expect my egg yolk was more on the raw side, either way I ate it.

We headed to Tangers outlet because it was right next store. I found a pair of Alexander Wang shoes originally $625, and I was going to be able to get it for $225!! BUT FOR SOME REASON, I DIDNT END UP GETTING IT. Pretty upset about it now, but I don't plan to take a 2 hour ride back to go get them now.

After shopping, we headed to a wine vineyard, since we were on the country side, there's pretty much a vineyard every 2 miles or a farm. These vineyards go for probably a mile each or more, it's crazy and I can only imagine how people maintain them. This vineyard had such an amazing vibe to it. Families and friends would bring their animals and let them run around, and there would be music playing. The weather was absolutely amazing, not too hot and not too cold and sunny. There was white wine and red wine that came with a cheese platter.

After we left the vine yard we went to a small restaurant that at first looked a bit sketchy, it was completely not on the map and it was quite tiny. IT WAS SUCH AN AMAZING RESTAURANT. The restaurant was essentially just a house made into a restaurant which was nice because it gave it a home feel. The waiting area was the backyard where there was a fireplace and heated lamps. The back of the was a lake so it was amazing to sit, watch the stars and water. The food was absolutely amazing, there was not one dish that didn't taste good. We had clam casino, pasta, and a bunch of seafood. Afterword, we headed back to the hotel and since I loved the seafood so much at Jerry's and Mermaids, I made everyone go back and eat more raw seafood cause I LOVE THE SEAFOOD THERE. I happily ate my second part of the meal and then we went back to the hotel. While they did a bunch of stuff and talked, I had to focus on finishing the remaining pieces of homework. I finished everything around 3 am, where I then knocked out and they were still partying.

Next and last day, we headed to a little place 1 hour from where we stayed, going even more into the country side. We past by this amazing little beach and it was beautiful. Kind of chilly, but we stopped by to take some pictures and some group pictures.

We arrived at Greenport and the little town was so cute! Once we arrived, we rode the antique carousel that was well known in the town. It had a great view of the sea and did I mention we were all huge and we were riding the carousel with little 5 year olds? We shopped around the little boutiques that had mostly handmade stuff, the bride to be even brought us all a little tricket to remember the trip by, a handmade necklace that had a beautiful crystal on it.  After shopping for around 2 hours, I bumped into a friend. Crazy to see that I still was able to bump into a friend 3 hours from home. But, he had a vacation house there and it was nice seeing him.

We then decided to have one last meal by the sea. We had Claudio's Clam bar, the wait was 20 minutes so it was so worth it. I ordered the clam linguine with white wine sauce and it was so die for. We also had oysters again because I love oysters haha.

After eating we headed back home. It was such a nice experience to take a look at a lifestyle that other people have. Everyone was so easy going and had such a different life style where as I live in a fast pace city life where I run everywhere and walk really fast without realizing it.

The neighborhood was incredible and I definitely plan to bring my friends or my loved ones back really soon for a get away.
